Kim is a classically trained vocalist, stage performer, and credentialed music educator living in Los Angeles, CA.
Kim has been performing professionally as a singer and entertainer since she was 16 years old. As a child, she recorded vocals in Nashville for a family folk album, and was an active soloist in her community; appearing on the local telethon and radio station, and singing for church services, weddings and school programs. In High School she placed first chair at District and Regional MENC choral competitions and was honored to participate in the All-Eastern Choral Festival in Boston, MA. Also during her High School years, she started her first job as an entertainer aboard the Proud Mary at Lake Raystown Resort in Pennsylvania, and performed her first operatic role as Hansel in a local production of Hansel and Gretel.
Since then Kim has performed principal roles with Harrisburg Opera Association, Lancaster Opera, Capitol Opera Harrisburg, Loudoun Lyric Opera, Civic Theater of Indianapolis, Shenandoah Conservatory Opera, Sierra Madre Playhouse and Center Stage Opera in Los Angeles; and has had long-term professional engagements with the Indianapolis Opera Chorus, Indianapolis Opera Ensemble, The Tim Brickley Jazz Quintet, the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington D.C., and the Charles Dickens Carolers. She has appeared as a guest artist with organizations like Hershey Symphony Orchestra, Manchester Symphony Orchestra, The Susquehanna Chorale and Messiah Choral Arts Society; and was featured on a nationally televised Christmas Eve Program on CBS. Recently she has appeared in Los Angeles venues like Catalina Jazz Club and the Mark Taper Auditorium with Brazilian guitarist and composer Matheus Poli, performing Bossa Nova and other world music.
In addition to performing, Kim is a dedicated music educator with a B.S. in Music Education, an M.M. in Voice Performance, and over 15 years of teaching experience; including 5 years as a music teacher in Pennsylvania public schools, 7 years as a youth choir director, and 15 months as an overseas volunteer in Nigeria. Kim currently teaches private lessons in piano and voice to all ages in and around Hollywood, CA.
